Monkey and Tortois
Folktale from west Kalimantan. Long,long ago. A monkey lived in the jungle. One day he was walking path through the forest. He meet with a turtle. Monkey said to the turtle : “i’m the fastest animal in the forest, no one beat me.”.he showed his pride. Tortoise said :” should not overbearing”. Monkey said :”Yes, already. Tomorrow we will race with me tomorrow, who’s faster”.The next day. The monkey and tortoise is ready underline start. “1,2,3,go..............with rapid monkey fled the tortoise. He kept ranning, monkey said :” Where the tortoise....?? Ooo, he’s still for, should I wait for him here.” Monkey sleep, slowly tortoise kept running. He kept trying until close to the finish line. Monkey awoke, “I overslept” said monkey. With fast he was running. But he lost, he left with a sense of shame.
